GLF Schools was founded in 2012 in order to enable the federation of Glyn School (an academy in 2011) and Danetree Junior School. Together, we began our journey to become a MAT of more than 1000 talented staff working with over 10,000 children in 40 schools across 5 regions in southern England.

Our children learn through the White Rose Maths scheme, which believes in creating; 'a culture that produces strong, secure learning and real progress.' This scheme is aimed at providing children of all ability levels challenges through developing mastery skills across all areas of the maths curriculum.

Through having clear learning objectives, teaching and the use of resources are targeted at ensuring effective learning for all. Concepts are broken down into smaller steps for the children in order to ensure they are well-understood before progressing.

All children will be expected to understand and use accurate mathematical vocabulary when explaining their mathematical thinking, supported by clearly displayed maths vocabulary and working walls where relevant.

Number bonds and number facts are important for children to be able to quickly recall and as such we aim to teach, practise and reinforce these so that they can be applied by all children in their learning.

Progression Document for Maths is accessible via the link here.
